ABC Shower

Yesterday I was able to attend Hannah and Logan's ABC Shower!!!

It was so neat seeing how creative everyone was with their gifts!

They got so many useful items for their home and more!!

I loved spending time with these girls!!

Thursday I got to shop ALL DAY with this little diva and her sweet Mommy!

She was too cute and I know I have said it before BUT

GROWING UP WAY TOO FAST!

When Leigh asked her if she was ready to go she walked straight over to the door!!

She was super excited about our shopping day!

On the way there she enjoyed craisins, turkey, goldfish and talking on the cell phone!

We spent the WHOLE day in Opelika.....

she loved eating lunch with Mammy and running around TJ Maxx....

After a whole day with me and her mommy........

She fired back up once we got home though!!!

ZB and I surprised her with her Valentine present a little early....

I don't want to raise just a good kid...

My daughter, Hope, is a senior this year. And she decided her senior year should be adventurous and a little out of the “normal” box. A lot out of the box actually.

She withdrew from traditional school. Applied with the state to homeschool. Enrolled in on-line college courses that would allow her to get both high school and college credit simultaneously. And planned to spend the month of January serving in Nicaragua doing missions.

This didn’t surprise me really. Because Hope has always liked charting her own course.

When she was really little I was scared to death I was the world’s worst mom, because Hope was never one to be contained. And I honestly thought all her extra tenacity was a sign of my poor mothering.

One day I took her to the mall to meet several of my friends with toddlers to grab lunch. All of their kids sat quietly eating cheerios in their strollers. They shined their halos and quoted Bible verses and used tissues to wipe their snot.

Not Hope.

She was infuriated by my insistence she stay in her stroller. So, when I turned away for a split second to place our lunch order, she wiggled free. She stripped off all her clothes. She ran across the food court. And jumped in the fountain in the center of the mall.

Really nothing makes the mother of a toddler feel more incapable than seeing her naked child splashing in the mall fountain. Except maybe that toddler refusing to get out and said mother having to also get into the fountain.

I cried all the way home.

Not because of what she’d done that day. But rather because of how she was everyday. So determined. So independent. So insistent.

I would beg God to show me how to raise a good child. One that stayed in her stroller. One that other people would comment about how wonderfully behaved she was. One that made me look good.

But God seemed so slow to answer those prayers. So, over the years, I changed my prayer. ”God help me to raise Hope to be who you want her to be.” Emphasis on, “God HELP ME!”

I think I changed my prayers for her because God started to change my heart. I started sensing He had a different plan in mind for my mothering of Hope.

Maybe God’s goal wasn’t for me to raise a good rule following child. God’s goal was for me to raise a God-following adult. An adult just determined and independent and insistent enough to fulfill a purpose He had in mind all along.

I don’t know what mama needs to hear this today. But let me encourage you from the bottom of my heart with 3 simple mothering perspectives you must hang on to:

1. Don’t take too much credit for their good.

2. Don’t take too much credit for their bad.

3. Don’t try to raise a good child. Raise a God-following adult.

And all the mamas of fountain dancing children said, “Amen!”

My baby brother, aka "Uncle T" to Blakely, has mono!!!

This virus totally wipes you out!!

Honey is SUPER sad that she is 5 hours away and can't make sure he is nursed back to health and staying in the bed!

Please pray for a speedy full recovery for Trey.

Not only is he suffering from the sickness but you all know he is about to go CRAZY not being able to do his normal workouts and football practice.

We believe that God is in control even in little viruses and has a plan and purpose for each circumstance.....

even when it is tough we must praise Him and know that He is the ultimate healer!

Thank you God for being in control and helping Trey get better.

Thank you for doctors, technology and medicines you provide for us.

Thank you for family and friends who love each other!

In His Hands...

I have been contemplating making this "public" for several months. It is not a huge exciting secret or anything BUT it is a BIG deal to me! I am, after many prayers, applying to graduate school. (DEEP BREATH with sigh).....
I always knew this was a long term career goal that I wanted to pursue I just didn't know when.....
However, after much affirmation from God, I knew that my time was now.
I hand delivered my "graduate package" to AUM today which included everything from my online portfolio as well as recommendation letters.

I will not know my "acceptance status" until around the beginning of April.

I have complete peace from Him that my application time was now but this program is very competitive and space is limited. There is no guarantee I will get in this go around.

The decision is totally in God's Hands now.

I have done my required work and now must totally trust Him.

This is why I decided to make my decision of applying public so that you can pray for me.

Please pray for God's Will....

Please pray for me to trust Him completely to guide my steps and accept whatever decision He makes in this chapter of my life and embrace the next steps...wherever they may lead!

"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Couple's Game Night!

If you know me very well you know I am always coordinating some event...I have been wanting to host a Couple's Game Night and last night my dream came true with some of the most fun couples I know! We enjoyed some delicious food and then had a ton of fun playing a couple games!

Everyone had a blast....

we are all so blessed to have such a great group that all live close by!

Our goal is to get together once a month for more FUN....

however, I learned this week that I am going to have to set a FEW RULES...

#1 on the agenda for next month....

NO cursing or screaming at your spouse or other couples during game time!

(this rule unfortunately is mostly for us..."The Baggett's")

hehehe...It was all in good FUN!!

Logan & Hannah won the first round of games and went home with a bag of jolly ranchers!

Love and I won Catch Phrase and the prize bag of butterfingers!

Can't wait to see you all again next month!!

We enjoyed Blakely's first "Ice Cream Parlor" and then celebrated her real birthday yesterday! It is so hard to believe that so much time has already passed and she is already one year old.....I can't even type about it much less talk about it!
We are very blessed to have such a healthy, smart and beautiful niece! She is such a blessing to our family.

Her birthday morning was kicked off with cinnamon rolls baked with love from Honey and the "birthday song" sung by her Mommy, Daddy and Honey! It was a precious moment!!! (the singing was amazing)

She LOVED them...yummy!!

The rest of the family celebrated last night at Pizza Villa!!

Blakely mostly enjoyed the crackers....

until this past weekend!

It was more than a blessing for me to have him here over the holidays.

I spent the day planning the BIG ONE YEAR Birthday Bash for Blakely!!
I can't believe our baby girl is about to be ONE YEAR OLD!!
We ended the day with a mini-photo shoot at Honey's house!

Hello 2012!

When the alarm went off this morning I did not want to get up....

but then I remembered I told my sister-in-law, Leigh, that I could help in the nursery at church!

I quickly rushed Love and sent him to the church to help Leigh until I made it!

I made it just in time for him to get in the sanctuary before the service started and

loved being with these sweet girls!

I love watching Leigh with Blakely!

She is such an amazing Mom!!

I love capturing little memories like this of them together!

Before we can blink Blakely will be helping with other babies in the nursery!

Her most favorite toy today was Honey's car keys and Cheerios were her favorite snack....of course she like to get her own out all by herself though instead of you handing them to her! :)

After church we had a little family time!

We ate our greens & peas!!!

Then Trey insisted on being a chiropractor!

I am so thankful he is home and is choosing to stay with us!

Zack and Trey love each other just like brothers and it absolutely melts my heart!!

I am so thankful for these two boys and even though I know I drive them both crazy....

I love them more than they will ever know!!

They are two very precious blessing in my life!

The End of 2011

I can't believe that in about 30 minutes 2011 will be over.....I spent the day with some of my favorites in the ER! I am so thankful that God blessed me this year with not only a job that I love but another family in Sylacauga, AL! HE is SO GOOD!

I got off a little early and made it home in time to see Love and finish up the last blog posts of the year!

2011 was a "roller coaster" year!!

Sometimes this year I have felt like I was creeping up the steep incline of a roller coaster...sorta holding my breath and wondering when I would ever reach the top.

Other times I have been sitting at the very peak of tallest point of a roller coaster.....so excited about the jump ahead.

Many other times I have been in the upside-down loop of a roller coaster....going really fast in many directions...too fast to really know how to feel.

Then at times I have been standing in line at a roller coaster....just waiting, sometimes patiently and other not so patiently, on my turn or some movement.

My least favorite times were those when I was at the "height requirement" sign at the very beginning of the line of a roller coaster.....standing there watching everyone else enjoy the ride and not looking at others in line....wishing I could go on but I have no control over my circumstances.........

2011 was full of many changes in my life.

Most of which I had no control over....it's just LIFE and it happens!

However, through all the good as well as the bad or sad......

GOD has not changed!

HE is FAITHFUL!

I know He is in control and has plans for 2012.....

This New YEAR of 2012 I am holding tightly and claiming

This past Thursday night I got to spend a whole afternoon and night with some of my best friends in the whole world!! I am so blessed just to know these girls but thankful that I honestly can say they are my true life long friends!! They have stuck by me all these year. They are there when times are good or bad, make me laugh, cry with me and would do anything in this world to help me!!

We enjoyed a fun dinner at Village Tavern in Birmingham before jammin to Corey Smith!!
It was a last minute girl's trip that God just worked out for all of us! So thankful we got to spend time together and laugh. We were EXCITED to also congratulate Hannah B(soon to be C.) on her NEW job coming up this year!! :) She is going to be the most AMAZING teacher!!

It was a fun way to kick off 2012.....looking forward to what God has in store for all of us this year!!

Back in October, we supported our local Corinth Fire Department by riding on their Halloween Hayride! Fun was had by all and many ears were ringing after riding with me....I screamed to the top of my lungs the WHOLE ride!! Love swore this would be our first and LAST "Haunted" Hayride!

The pictures were perfect but the cards were LATE getting here....I didn't order enough...and I addressed many of them after a 14 hour shift in the ER!! (so please excuse my handwriting)
Absolute craziness but I promise to be better next year as well as update and organize my address book!!

1 Year Trip

Saturday morning Love drove us to Mentone, AL for our anniversary weekend!!!

We enjoyed cooking breakfast together Saturday morning!

It of course was very important to ME that we have a cake ceremony......

Love was such a good sport! :)

Most of the weekend was spent just RELAXING like this:

our favorite show, Law & Order SVU and some movies were watched!

We also enjoyed the jacuzzi every night!!

Our First Year

After being Prince & Princess in Jamaica we flew home to spend Christmas with our families. We made it to all the family gatherings on Christmas Eve glowing with our new bling. Reality set in quickly however when Love found me boo-hooing in the bathroom of our little home Christmas Eve night. Before I could even get out "I'm sorry. I feel stupid but..." Love said "Get your stuff. We are going to Woodland tonight." I didn't hesitate one second. In pajamas and with one over night bag we headed to Woodland, AL at about 11:15pm to spend Christmas with my parents and get visited by Santa the next morning.
The first two weeks of marriage were beyond perfect! I thought that all those people who told me marriage was hard and living with someone was difficult were crazy. Zack and I were great and we had this marriage thing down to an art and it had only been two weeks.......Well I learned a long time ago that I am one of those people that has to eat her words due to my big mouth as well as learn EVERY lesson the hardest way imaginable due to pure stubbornness aka "Fetner blood"! Needless to say I will never forget asking my girl's Bible study group....What the heck happens in Week 3 of Marriage??? Is it just us or is this normal???? He is driving me crazy and I'm scared because this is FOR REAL! :)

My girl's Bible study group was such a blessing from God. His perfect timing amazes me. We began the Linda Dillow study "Creative Counterpart" almost exactly one week after Zack and I were married. If you have never read this book...EVERY woman should but get ready!! God has clear instructions on what a Godly wife is and let me just tell you....without God....I am not a very Godly wife!! The whole chapter seven on being mild, soft spoken and submissive.........come on really???? Did God forget about that "Fetner blood" running through my veins!??!
NO, He didn't! He made me just the way I am because I totally have to depend on Him to be even half of what I need to be as a Godly woman, wife and friend.

While I was totally devoted to my last semester of nursing school at Auburn, Zack faithfully worked to provide for our family! We also became "ZB & Honey" on Jan.24 due to the arrival of our first niece Blakely! We were instantly in love!

Love continued being the sole provider while I traveled back and forth to Auburn for classes for the next few months before beginning my preceptorship in Sylacauga in March. After not even a full month in the ER, I was offered a full-time postion at Coosa Valley and they wanted me to start as soon as I could after graduation! You would have thought I told Love I had won the lottery! Seriously, we were both thrilled and so very thankful that God easily opened that door wide open for us.

My graduation on May 9 from Auburn was so very special thanks to Love and our families and closest friends!!

I enjoyed "just chillin" the rest of the month of May by spending time with family and friends and decorating our house. We also celebrated Trey graduating from high school by having his graduation party at our home before moving him to Mobile the next week! Trey moving off was like a funeral....Zack thought I had absolutely lost my mind after several melt downs which included me laying in the floor and crying to the point of hyperventilating! He was very supportive and tried so hard to be the strong husband who could make me better.....however, he knows after almost 10 years of dealing with me that there is nothing that will cure this craziness! :)

I had to dry my tears quickly though because BIG GIRL WORLD hit me in the face the week after Trey left! In June, I began my full time RN orientation at CVMC. I began my orientation with my temporary AL nursing license....so yes, during this time I was also STUDYING for BOARDS!! Mom and I stayed the night in Montgomery the night before my test and then I found out on my birthday at work that I PASSED!! What an amazing 21st BIRTHDAY! Love surprised me with tickets to see Def Leppard in Atlanta with some of my most favorite, fun friends!! It was a birthday I will never forget!

We also shared time with precious friends at the wedding of Adrianne and Adam Harris!!
WHOO HOO In June we had survived 6 MONTHS! :)
We enjoyed the rest of the summer by going to the beach, throwing my Daddy a surprise 40th Birthday and giving a baby shower at our house for sweet friends Kyle and LaRae!

In the FALL it was time for FOOTBALL!!! Zack and I loved traveling to watch the South Alabama Jaguars during Trey's first college season! We traveled to many games including 2 fantastic flights to North Carolina in September and then San Antonio, TX in October as well as a few road trips to Mobile! We are proud to be Trey's big brother and sister!!

I also led another Bible study at our house the month of October. About 20 ladies filled our home each Tuesday night. God used this time to teach me so much through the Priscilla Shirer "Jonah" study! I am so very thankful for the women of faith God has put in my path to encourage me and help me learn!
Love and I also went to The Plains for several games to cheer on the Tigers! We love tailgating with friends and family!!

And here we are.....December is here and going by so quickly!! So far we have enjoyed several social events...Hannah & Leslie-Ann's ornament showers, the ER Christmas Party, a SURPRISE birthday party for Zack and Derrick's girlfriend, Jenny and my Sip & Swap at our home!

For me my first year of marriage was not what I expected....it was much more.

I have learned first hand that a marriage is a beautiful thing created by God. However, it must be centered around Him to continue to grow and be gorgeous. Thus far I have felt as if my marriage has been like God putting a BIG life-size x-ray mirror in front of ME! I see the good & bad from the outside all the way to the depths of my heart.
It has really made me examine myself...

Early on, especially after that you know where and back Week 3 of marriage, Zack and I both talked about how we both wanted to be "the best husband" and "the best wife".
Well the truth is I think.....that as long as you both want to be the best for each other, your headed in the right direction. It is an everyday decision to get up and love another person and put them first. However, you can only fully do this my getting up everyday, put God first and allow Him to love through you.

I can honestly say that our first year has been AMAZING!
We are blessed to not only be husband and wife but BEST FRIENDS!
We love each other unconditionally.
We are faithful and honest. (sometimes way too honest)
We are each other's rocks.
We laugh together.
We cry together.
We dance and sing together.
We cook together.

We love being TOGETHER......and sometimes being TOGETHER and doing nothing at all...is PERFECT!

I don't know if any of this made sense...sometimes this thing called "love" doesn't make sense. I could never really tell you all the real reasons I LOVE Zack Baggett because words don't even start to really describe the way I feel......words don't describe how we feel about each other.....or the way we are connected......even if I tried to explain "us" you wouldn't understand......because it's just "us"......Sam & Zack....always and forever......I thank our Heavenly Father daily for Zack....for our first year......I would do it all over again tomorrow!!! :)

I had all good intentions of getting up and cooking a BIG birthday breakfast for Love on his birthday but after 16 hours in the ER and getting in bed after 5am I barely heard the alarm go off in our room....so instead we had a birthday lunch picnic at the farm together and then I spent the rest of the afternoon sitting on a towel on the side of the road with a good book watching Love do what he loves most!!

After a full day of work, well really play to Zack,

we headed to the Allen's for family pictures with our favorite girl, Blakely!

We all then went to LaGrange to eat Love's favorite....

I know all of you have gathered by now or some of you know it from witnessing it before (bless your heart) that I can be a "little emotional". Okay I admit I can be DRAMATICALLY emotional and sentimental but I can't be any less than how God made me ......He just made me that way!

Anyway, so I guess you are wondering what has got me all worked up this week......I must tell you about this INFANT that I LOVE SO MUCH but is absolutely TEARIN' her Honey UP!!!!

This gorgeous child that I swear was just born like what last week????!!!????..... SHE IS WALKING!

I mean all the way across the living room walking and then will just stand there and look at you with that SERIOUS face like she is saying "What's the big deal?? You knew when I made my mind up that I was ready I would just get up and do it!"

Not only is she walking but there are TONS of other little tricks she can do..... from teasing her K-9 sister Bella with puffs to dancing to the beat of any awesome pop song.....last night during her ZB's birthday dinner....what do you know....the kid is FEEDING HERSELF!!!

Thanks for reading and probably just shaking your head at me right now......I know I have got to get over it......she is growing up......just way too fast though......I am so afraid the next time she walks in my door she will have on a miniskirt holding a boy's hand....and Lord forbid......I won't even be able to blog because instead of a "moment" Honey will be having a MELTDOWN!

My precious hubby,

I can't believe you are 27!! On my drive home from work tonight I thought back about all the years that have gone by and the memories we have made together. I am so thankful that God chose you to be the prince of my happily ever after!!

Mama knows best....As if it were yesterday, I remember going to a candle light service on September 13, 2001 at the town park in Wadley. I went with mom and so many people were there to remember those who were previously affected by the terrorist attacks and pray for our country. After the service we ran into Mrs.Lynn as we were walking back to our cars. We stopped to say hello and try and talk about something uplifting considering the circumstances of our country. I remember standing there and my mom saying "if I could pick someone to put in a box and save for Samantha it would be Zack Baggett". Mom was always impressed with what an encouraging leader and polite young man Zack was in high school. She loved watching him play sports and would always comment on his positive attitude and of course his good looks! She never would have dreamed that a little over three years later I would be dating him......

It started as a crush and ended up being my whole life...Leigh was my best friend and we spent every minute we possibly could together. Of course I thought Zack was so cute and sweet and funny but he was my best friend's brother! We always had fun together and were just really good friends who enjoyed hanging out with each other. Then in 2002 Teresa and Michael took the whole gang to Panama City for a week! By this time, I was seeing Zack in a whole new light and as everyone loves to remind me now...I made it very clear on this beach trip that I thought he was really special! I was your typical teenage girl! I always wanted to sit beside him at dinner, or ride next to him on the strip, reserve the lounge chair right next to his, or be his partner during chicken fights in the pool....I can't take all the credit for all the flirting though! Mr.Baggett also put on his charm for me throughout the next year and made sure I kept thinking he hung the moon....

Some of our firsts that I will never forget...I was shocked the first time he kissed me in 2003. It was perfect! Zack moved soon after that moment when he graduated from high school. It was hard for me when he went to Auburn. I will never forget the day he moved....I of course was there with Leigh and we helped pack the last of his stuff in the truck. I was in the back of the house thinking that he had probably pulled out of the driveway by this time when I felt someone come right up behind me. I turned around and as soon as I did he said "I love you, Sam". He squeezed me in a tight hung as I said " I love you too." It was the first time he had said those 3 words to me. I knew in that moment that we did indeed love each other and I couldn't imagine us not being together. A little time went by and we were apart but still loved seeing each other every chance we got and always had fun together. We both were at very different stages in our lives and watched each other change and grow. After both of us fought off our true feelings for some time, Zack finally decided despite our different stages of life that he wanted to take me on an official first date. He started by asking both of our parents permission. Though they were hesitant because they both loved us both and didn't want anything to hurt our friendship, they allowed us to go. I remember Leigh being so excited and helping me get ready. She even let us drive her Mustang! We went to Pizza Villa in LaGrange and ate pizza by candle light! Zack will still tell you today that I was so nervous that night I didn't eat a bite!! I was shaking so bad my salad wouldn't even stay on my fork....

You're still the one...There were not many times after that first date that we were apart again. Even though we were not perfect, we were perfect for each other! We both knew that we were meant to be together. Through the years we have both grown up and changed a lot but one thing has never changed..... we still say "I love you" just as sincerely passionate as the first time, everyday more than once!!! We were blessed with a few years of us both being in Wadley together while I was still in high school. We were able to spend so much time together and live the simple life!! I am so thankful for so many fun memories!! The transition of me moving to Auburn was a challenge. We both thought we would never make it being apart so much!! Things got easier after the first few months but we both made many trips from Wadley to Auburn my first year!! Auburn Nursing School was a different story.....I couldn't go home because I had to study and Zack couldn't come see me because I was studying!! We really only saw each other on weekends and special occasions. Zack was so encouraging! I couldn't have made it through without his love and support. Overall we both had a blast during my time at Auburn! Away from school we always found something fun to do! We loved tailgating together, going to concerts, having movie nights, and of course eating out!! God blessed this time also. He stretched both of us and opened our hearts to Him more than ever before. We both know He has big plans for us and can't wait to see what He will do next!! We have both been so very blessed and are so thankful for God's grace.....

A snow white surprise in the Smokies....Zack and I left Wadley about 7:30 in the morning on December 18, 2009 headed to Gatlinburg......Matthew, Leigh, Big Danny, and Momma Lynn were not going to be to far behind. It was pouring when we left home and rained the whole way! We stopped a couple of times and ate. We just took our time and enjoyed being together. As soon as we got to Gatlinburg those hard rain drops turned into white flakes and it looked like a Winter Wonderland. I have never been in so much snow!!! It was absolutely gorgeous!!! Well we made it to our cabin and after a small snowball fight we waited to hear from the rest of our crew! Little did we know they were all stuck on the other side of the mountain due to fallen trees and dangerous ice and snow! They closed the roads and wouldn't let them through. While all of this was happening to them...Zack and I lost power in our cabin and were having trouble driving even with four-wheel drive! I am so thankful we did not take the Acura this year! My poor little car would have never made it!! The rest of the crew had to stay in Cherokee for the night. We decided to go shop a little.......we shopped, talked, and then went and enjoyed a great dinner at Olive Garden. I must admit that at dinner Zack made me believe he had still not asked my dad's permission. He just kept me going because it was all part of his plan. He wanted me to not expect anything and well MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! I was heartbroken. I pouted and shed a couple of tears. When we got back to our cabin we had power! Praise the Lord! ............. We got up early the next morning and started getting ready. I of course took a lot longer than Zack did. He kept coming downstairs and seeing if I was ready yet but never said anything when he came down. I told him after about the third time that I was hurrying and I would be ready in a minute. He said "O that's fine." I thought WOW he is in a good mood since he wasn't rushing me like usual. I just thought he was being sweet and after all we were on vacation!! When I was ready I went upstairs and he was just walking around in the living room. I was just being my normal self, organizing all my stuff and gathering everything I wanted to take with me. I told him I was ready whenever he was and he said well let me go warm up the truck......so I just waited in the living room. He came back in and just kept walking around and looking out the windows. Then he said do you think years from now you will remember this place and this weekend. I told him yeah I thought so. I reminded him of how much I scrapbook and blog too. I said we can always look back at those things and remember times like these. Then he said so you think if I asked you to marry me here you would always remember......still not expecting anything I said well yeah of course I would.....then he reached in his pocket and I saw the box!!! He said "Well will you? Will you marry me? Will you be my wife?" I just started crying and grabbed him in a huge hug!!! I was so surprised......When I finally let go, I looked at him and with tears in both of our eyes he said it again... "Well will you?" and I said....."YES! You know I will."

A FAIRY TALE WEDDING...2010 was full of showers and parties thanks to so many special friends and family. Our engagement year was so unforgettable and on December 18, 2010 we promised our love forever at Wadley First Baptist Church surrounded by those who love us. We then danced the night away in a winter wonderland thanks to my precious family who hauled in 25 live Christmas trees and more. It was my dream come true! Love and I then spent the night in Atlanta before flying to Jamaica for an incredible Honeymoon Week! It was the most amazing week of our lives. We were treated like royalty and then flew home just in time to spend our first Christmas together as husband and wife.

THIS SUNDAY WE WILL CELEBRATE OUR ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY! I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT ALMOST 10 YEARS AGO OUR "CRUSH" BEGAN AND NOW WE ARE ALMOST ABLE TO SAY WE HAVE BEEN MARRIED FOR ONE YEAR........TIME REALLY DOES FLY WHEN YOU ARE HAVING FUN!!

MY LIFE OVER THE PAST 10 YEARS HAS BEEN MORE SPECIAL AND FUN BECAUSE OF YOU, ZACK. I NEVER THOUGHT I COULD LOVE YOU MORE THAN I DID THAT SUMMER IN PANAMA CITY BUT EACH YEAR I LOVE YOU MORE!! I CAN'T IMAGINE LIFE ANY OTHER WAY. YOU ARE THE MAN OF MY DREAMS AND MY VERY BEST FRIEND! I AM SO PROUD OF YOU AND THANKFUL TO BE YOUR WIFE!!

On June 25 this summer I was able to stand beside another wonderful friends as she vowed to love the man of her dreams for a lifetime........I can't believe Adam and Adrianne will celebrate 6 months this December! This month is the month we were engaged in 2009, married in 2010, will celebrate our anniversary
as well as Love's birthday on the 13th!!!

WHOO.....the calendar for the month is already made out in the planner and there is not one
"open" weekend that I know of.....but I, the social butterfly/party planner/not happy unless I have too many irons in the fire girl, would not have it any other way!!!

I surprised Love with a little sweet treat yesterday to kick off this FUN MONTH!!

I also began wrapping presents to go under the tree.......

I can't believe this is the last day of November 2011!! I don't know who started the "Thankful Status" on Facebook this year but I am glad they did and have enjoyed sharing some of my blessings!!

God is and has been so very good to me while I am so underserving.

Many mornings I had to think really hard of the one blessing I wanted to highlight that day because I have so much to be thankful for that I couldn't even begin to list.

I have amazing friends and a wonderful family who brighten my days and a Savior who provides all I need!

I am VERY THANKFUL and looking forward to what December 2011 holds...........

Decking the Halls

and every other inch of the house as Love would say......
I began out Christmas decorating a week ago by pulling out every dish we own out of our cabinets....
my main goal was to swap out the everyday china for the Christmas china but my whole tiny project turned into a re-organization disaster that we lived through for a few days while I worked and tried to clean off and on!
Zack said at one point ,"Don't you think we have too much stuff?"
I quickly responded,"No! We don't have enough cabinet space!"

However, he made up for his statement completely this past Sunday by staying with me all day and decorating our house for Christmas!

It was such a fun and much needed day!! We loved it being just us and mostly I loved him being with me while I decorated for my most favorite time of the year!

While looking back over my blog from last year I realized I had a post from the weekend we began working on our first house! We have done SO much since that weekend!! I took some photos of all of our decor and any other updates I haven't shared with the blog world!

This past weekend, I was honored to share a very special day with two amazing friends!
We began Dawn's wedding weekend with manicures and pedicures!!

Sunday morning it was time to get the hair did!!! :)

Angela's Fun Party!

Angela is counting down the days until her wedding on December 17th but we decided that before the BIG day we must all get together and make sure she had plenty of "fun stuff"!

PJs were a requirement and some of us (Me and Angel) got a little excited, hence the "adult onesie"!!

Crackle Toes!

This weekend was "Daisy's WEDDING weekend" aka a national holiday so of course we had to get our toes did!! Elizabeth and I tested out the new OPI crackle paint on our toes, which by the way is so cool!! However, no! I did not take a picture of our toes....#1 I didn't really think about it and #2 no toes but especially MY toes are not blog friendly on any day!! hehehe

We did have a blast being together though and made the bride feel extra special!!

Happy Veteran's Day 2011!

Deep Sleep

When ZB woke me up this morning he said "It is ridiculous how long you have slept!" I just looked at him with no response and after he kissed my cheek I pulled the covers back over my head and mumbled "I love you too" through the comforter!
I did sleep from 5:30pm yesterday until 8:30 this morning.....however....this was my schedule the past few days.....
Friday at the ER 11a-11:30p
Saturday at the ER 7a-7p
Sunday at the ER 7a-7:30p
Monday DR appt. 8:30am then to work at the ER 11a-11p
Tuesday Bible Study at 6:30, Dinner cooked by 7:30 and then back to the ER 11p-7a
Wednesday Morning Staff Meeting 8am
then down Hwy 280 to stay with my sweet niece until about 3pm before heading home to my warm bed!

I am not complaining.....I am just a busy girl who obviously needed her sleep and I GOT IT!

Thank you Lord for peaceful, deep sleep!!!
The rest of the family can say that Blakely looks like them but after Leigh sent me this picture from B's morning nap today....I think it is safe for me to say that she SLEEPS just like her HONEY! MOUTH WIDE OPEN!

I FINALLY was reunited with my girls yesterday!!

I couldn't wait to get my hands on Blakely! She was SO excited to see her Honey too!!

Leigh has been by her side being such a precious Mommy!!

Blakey is eating good again and in GREAT spirits!!

The bacteria is out of her bloodstream but she must stay in the hospital until November 15th to continue IV antibiotics twice a day.

I am so thankful to Dr.Anz for being such a great physician who listens to the Ultimate Physician and taking care of our sweet girl!!

God is good and we give Him all the glory, honor and praise!!

Thank you Lord for continuing to heal B and showing your faithfulness to us!!

B got moved to a bigger room today since she is going to be staying a few days to get her IV antibiotics! Thank you Lord for all the answered prayers and for sweet friends and family that are continuing to pray for Blakely!!

Love went to check on our sweet girl tonight and made it just in time for dinner!! :)

I am just LOVING my pictures!! Thanks so much, Leigh! It is helping my heart since I can't be there!!

Can't wait to see you all SOON SOON SOON...ONE MORE DAY! I love you all!!

B's Hospital Stay!

After receiving a phone call from Leigh at 11pm Thursday night and checking B's fever for the next couple of hours and talking with the EAMC on-call pediatrician we knew we would end up at the office on Friday....we never really thought a hospital stay for a few days!

Especially when of ALL WEEKENDS...this is Honey's LONG weekend to work! I began on Friday and don't have an off day until Wednesday!

However, my heart is in that baby's room in Opelika and I am sending prayers up for her as often as I think of her which is OFTEN!

Thank you all so much for your calls, texts, notes, messages and visits!! I promise to have my phone on me on Wednesday and Thursday and hopefully return some of your attempts to reach me!!

TODAYS UPDATE:
Here is the answer to everyone's faithful prayers for Blakely: the culture revealed definite Ecoli, but it is a strain that IS responding to the antibiotics. Her fever has broken for the first time, and she took her first bottle in several days and is eating her baby food! Her doctor will contact Pediatric Disease Control and wait for any additional instructions. She will be in the hospital for at least 7-10 days. She will have renal tests to see if there are cysts on the kidneys or urine reflux that may have made her susceptible to this bacteria. She is alert today, playing, and her color is better. I KNOW without a doubt that the LORD, our Healer, has touched Blakely and that His messengers have ministered His healing to her, speedily destroying the enemy coming against her little body in answer to the many prayers you have offered up on her behalf! Please pass along this miraculous recovery so that the Lord, our God will recieve ALL the honor and glory. He has used you and all the staff here at the hospital, especially Dr. Linda Anz, as His intruments. Dr. Anz listened to her heart and the knowledge and great wisdom she has gained over the years to make all the right decisions from the beginning. There are many doctors who would have said she just had a virus and sent us home. We will forever be grateful to her for her compassionate heart and care. Thank you all again for your continual prayers for little Blakely as she contines to grow stronger with every passing hour. God BLESS and reward you abundantly!! I will post any additional information we receive as she recovers.

This was posted right after she arrived in Gatlinburg almost two years ago and I surprised her with the news of our engagement.
I decided tonight to look back at my blog and see what I was doing this time last year...... I had a post from exactly one year ago today!!! The post made me smile and kinda giggle to myself!! Man, I couldn't have made it with God, so many prayers and love/support from friends and family!! It was such a busy but yet joyful time and I am so very thankful to God for helping me hold it together and enjoy every minute of it.
Thank you Lord for blessing me throughout my journey through nursing school and also blessing our year of engagement. I will forever look back and remember your faithfulness.

BUSY November...

I want to apologize in advance for being crazy, moody, unsociable and not blogging this month. When I look at my planner I absolutely get nauseous!! This month is packed full but when I make it through it I am going to be a free woman!!!! So WARNING.....WATCH OUT!!

I can't describe in words the excitement, joy, overwhelming emotions, and anxiousness I have when I think about December 18!!! Zack and I are still on cloud nine and can't wait for our big day!! The closer it gets the more excited I get!!! Thanks to all of you who made this past year of our engagement so amazing!! It was such a special year that we will never forget!!! I hope that all of you can come to the wedding!! Oh how I can't wait to walk down that aisle!!!
I really really can't wait to be lying on the beaches of Jamaica..........I pray I have so much fun I will be tempted just to stay and send postcards to all of you that we have decided to stay for awhile!!

This weekend is Blakely's first baby shower!! I am beyond excited about spoiling this little girl!! I know I can't even imagine the emotions I am going to have until I hold her but I already realize that I am going to fall in love in a whole new way than I ever have before.......I am pretty sure Blakely already has her Honey wrapped around her tiny long fingers!

I will try to take time to post pictures from the shower and any other major happening throughout the month but you might not get my usual deep reflection or crazy emotional breakdowns with the pictures. I am for the most part going to try and be a big girl this month....I have told myself that there is no time for emotional breakdowns......

This might be an awful plan that I will be holding everything in this month of November to build up for one of the biggest months of my life....DECEMBER 2010.
O well!!! You all just pray for me!!
Pray for:
*nursing school (me and my classmates) not for A's just that we clearly understand our material and perform to the best of our ability...passing the semester would be nice though!! :)
*me as i try and focus more on school and control my emotions until after all these tests and then absolutely let my excitement explode about this WEDDING!
*me & Zack as we continue to prepare for our big day, pray that we will be so humbled and be a blessing to each other, other people, and remain in His will.
*Leigh & Matthew as they prepare to meet their little girl and become parents
*Leigh & Blakely's health, Leigh's emotions, and Blakely's arrival into this world
*Blakely's patience and cooperation to wait until her Honey & ZB are home from their Honeymoon before she makes her grand appearance!!! :) haha but if all fails with the last prayer...just pray that ZB finds Honey a flight home in time and that we don't kill each other or get a divorce trying to get back to the states!!

I LOVE Priscilla Shirer! I LOVE even more her LOVE for the Lord and how He uses her to speak to women around the world even in little ol' Wadley! For the past 5 week I have enjoyed time with ladies in my area, Pricilla and God on a weekly basis studying the book of Jonah!

What an incredible message and lesson in just 4 short chapters of the Bible!! I am thankful for this study and the wonderful women of faith I am sharing it with on Tuesday nights! I can't believe we will finish the study next week!

Tonight I was reading a post on Priscilla's blog that I thought was too good not to share......

I am going to try to start this in our home....I can see Love now looking like Pricilla's boys in the picture!! OH WELL as she says...HE is gonna HEAR IT and then with some prayer God will let it soak in his soul!!

Thank you Lord for your Word that is LIVING AND POWERFUL AND SHARPER THAN A TWO EDGED SWORD!!!

God's Word Spoken Over Our Children

This past weekend I was in Sacramento, CA. It was an AMAZING time of worship with a high energy group of sisters that were a collage of different backgrounds, denominations and cultures. I can honestly say that this conference very well may have been one of the most memorable Going Beyond Events for me. God's presence was palatable and we all knew that He was there!

During one of the messages, I mentioned that I am very intentional about speaking affirmative Scripturally- based statements over my boys. I joked that as soon as I start in on the liturgy of "You are. . ." statements, they frantically lift their hands up over their ears as if to say, "Mom, enough already, we hear this every day!"

Well, of course, I demand that they take their hands down from over their ears and listen intently as I tell them who they are in Christ and who they are becoming as men who will live in way that is honoring to Him.

They smile - in between sighs of impatience - and indulge their mother :)

When I got back home to Dallas last night, I received an email from Lindsay - a woman who must have been a part of that event. She asked me if I could be specific about what I say to the boys each day. And. . . how I wish that I could. It is really just a compilation of Scripture verses - promises from the Lord that I reword into affirming statements for their lives. I have a consistent way of starting - an initial first few sentences that they always expect - but then it's a free-for-all.

You are a man of integrity and character. You will love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul and all your strength. You will be a blessing to your teachers and a blessing to your friends. You are the head and not the tail. You are above and not beneath. You are a leader and not a follower.

Normally, I say only a few more things before sending them out the door, backpacks securely in place, to school.

You are the temple of the Holy Spirit.

You are a man of valor.

You have the whole armour of God so that you can stand against the schemes of the devil.

You will bless the Lord at all times and His praises shall continually be in your mouth.

This could be a fun activity for you - constructing a statement to speak over your children (or to speak over YOURSELF for that matter) that is suited to what you hope for them to become in Christ. They might put their hands up over their ears in protest every now and then but WHO CARES! They WILL hear you and what you are saying will nestle deep into their souls over time.

Here are a list of Scripturally-based affirmation statements to get you going. Have fun!

I love the Lord my God with my whole heart, soul, and mind (Mark 12:30).

I walk by faith and not by sight (II Corinthians 5:7).

The Lord is on my side. I will not fear what man can do to me. (Psalm 118:6)

I do no look with disdain upon my weaknesses. I use them as an opportunity for God will display His powerful strength (2 Corinthians 12:10)

I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me (Philippians 4:13).

There is no weapon that is formed against me that can prosper, and every tongue that rises up against me in judgment shall be condemned (Isaiah 54:17).

I will be hospitable without complaint (1 Peter 4:9).

I will not use my tongue to speak cursings but life-giving blessings to everyone that I meet and in every situation I face. (James 3:8-10)

The Spirit indwells me therefore I am the temple of the Living God (II Corinthians 6:16).

I am faithful over a few things, and I will be made ruler over many (Matthew 25:23).

I humbly submit to God and I actively resist the work of the devil, and he must flee from me (James 4:7).

I will not give the enemy an opportunity or foothold in my life. (Ephesians 4:27)

The One who is in me is greater than he that is in the world (1 John 4:4).

I choose to obey the Lord and receive the prosperous abundance and blessing that He will bestow on me. (Deuteronomy 30:8-9)

My heart keeps the commandments of God, and length of days, long life, and peace shall they add to me (Proverbs 3:1-2).

I walk by the Spirit and do not fulfill the desires of my flesh (Galatians 5:16)

I exhibit the fruit of the Spirit which is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23)

The Lord guards my going out and my coming in – today and forever. (Psalm 121:8).

I rejoice in the Lord whether circumstances are good or bad (Philippians 4:4)

I will not be afraid when I lie down and my sleep shall be sweet (Proverbs 3:24).

I obtain the favor of the Lord (Proverbs 12:2).

The Lord is in my midst and sings over me with joy. (Zephaniah 3:17)

I am the apple of my Father’s eye. (Deuteronomy 32:10)

Goodness and mercy will follow me; not only today but all the days of my life.. (Psalm 23:6).

My Football Guys!!

My Daddy and other dad, Jimmy, traveled to Mobile this weekend to cheer on #16!

These are two of my favorite football guys!

They supported me through all my many seasons cheering at Wadley.

They have both pulled me off fences as well as other people during games!

I will forever cherish many games with these two!

So thankful for their friendship and glad they got to see our favorite QB for the Jags!

19 years ago little did I know I was not only getting blessed with a baby brother but also a life long best friend!
I am so thankful for Trey and our special bond!
I really don't like this whole growing up and moving away from home thing he had to do this year but I have my melt-downs at least once a month and then make a road trip or catch a flight somewhere to see him and that helps me for a few weeks at least!!

Trey is my baby brother, best friend and most thankful my little prayer warrior!
I call on him when I know I need him praying for something specific for me!

THE PLAINS...

I worked an ALL nighter this past Friday so I could get home in time for a quick power

nap and the head to The Plains with some of my favorite people!!

The ONLY downfall of my Texas trip was that I LOST my camera...

well really I left it and someone stole it!

I knew where I left it but unfortunately someone found it before I did....

So I don't have any pictures from my weekend except from what I stole from friends...

It was a fun Saturday of tailgating with sweet family and precious friends!!

Love and I went into the game and cheered on the Tigers!

We were excited about the WIN!

My most favorite part of Saturday though had a lot to do with the next two pictures!

I loved seeing some girls I haven't seen in FOREVER!

I graduated Auburn's Nursing School with Anna and Britney!

They are such FUN friends and now are AMAZING nurses!!

As Britney put it...this was probably one of the safest tailgates with

3 ER NURSES!! :)

and of course...my CAROL!!

She became one of my best friends during my Freshmen year at Auburn!

She always brings a smile to my face and joy in my heart!!

I am so proud of all 3 of these girls and so thankful God allowed our paths to cross!

I will be forever thankful for their friendships!!

It was so great to see you girls and I can't wait for another reunion soon!

Thanksgiving Day 21: Thankful for the much needed, all to myself, fun Sunday I had with my best friend, Zack Baggett! Thanks to his help it is officially Christmas time at the Baggett house! :)

Thanksgiving Day 22: Thankful for our sweet and little home! I love it and am very thankful to have such a beautiful place to come home to and fill with friends & family!!

Thanksgiving Day 25: Thankful that if I couldn't stay out shopping all night and today or spending the day with Love and friends at least I am with my ER FAMILY! hi-ho, hi-ho off to work I go....Have a great day everyone and WAR EAGLE!!!!

Thanksgiving Day 7: This morning I am thankful for the little pleasures in life such as COFFEE and DELICIOUS creamer!!
Headed back to the ER for a full day of work. Still praying for B and counting down the hours until I can get my hands on that sweet girl!! Thank you all for your prayers!
