I remember being raised in a Southern country church. I loved singing old hymns in the choir loft. I remember my Mom singing them around the house when we were younger. I remember Trey PREACHING Bro. Larry's "hellfire and brimstone" sermons verbatim during the week after a Sunday morning service.
Trey was very smart and could remember anything he saw or heard after asking MANY questions!
He began staying with "Aunt Betty" Brown when he was only 3 in Roanoke.
Mom and I also talked about Mrs.Betty this week and wanted to thank her for loving our Trey from such an early age and making such a Godly impact in his life. She has been a blessing to our family and we will always be thankful for her. I want to share this conversation....
TREY: “I prayed with 6 boys today. (MaKinley, Dawson, Hermvus, Jeffery, Mock, and Carlos) We baptized them today in the ocean! God is good!!!!”
MOM(TAMMY): “Yes he is. Praise Him!”
TREY: “Wow.. When we were standing in the crowd and they told them they wanted Jesus in their heart like "T" .... I couldn't hold it in :)”
MOM: “I can't imagine how that felt. That is a blessing.”
TREY: “I'm so humbled and blessed by this. Mrs Betty always told me people would listen.. I just have to talk.”
From Mom(TAMMY) to Samantha: When Trey sent this to me.... I just started crying. This shows what God does. Trey was only three when he stayed with Mrs.Betty. I wish Mrs.Betty knew her own testimony. When I left Trey at her house when he was three she said, “Tammy, I may be on a walker but I will live to see God use that young man. Trey is wise beyond his years. God has blessed him with an influence over people. They will want what he has. He has special plans for Trey. Just you wait and see. God has placed a special love for Him inside Trey’s heart. He will use Trey.” She loved him so much. She was Trey’s early disciple. She helped him know and love God. Please let her know that Trey is part of her testimony. She was great with those children and she loved your brother. She did warn me that the “gurls” as he would say could lead him astray. Haha. Because that little Patrice Awbrey would bless him out and he would humble down like a beaten kitten. ;)
Yall...Mrs.Betty was RIGHT!! She hit every nail directly center (even the part about the "gurls"). This week Trey had an opportunity to share his faith with children across a whole bunch of water from us! They wanted Jesus!! What an absolute CELEBRATION!!!
It was an amazing and life changing week for the USA FCA Team in Spanish Wells, Bahamas!! 29 Salvations, 24 baptisms and over 750lbs of supplies donated!!! All GLORY to GOD! "Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us..." Eph.3:20. I am so thankful they are home in Mobile!! I am SO READY to get down South and hear all about it face to face!!! I am thankful for my precious friend and sister in Christ, Morgan Motes, who captured all the memories!!!
